Lake Shore Animal Shelter is a no kill shelter located in Chicago IL. The shelter has been in business for almost 50 years. Their success is directly related to the multitude of volunteers they have had during this long run as a nonprofit.

The site is a busy site and get over 250 people a day checking out the Chicago shelter. The site is full of great articles that are very helpful and a series of audio tips from a Vet. The site also makes use of Google Adsense to bring in a small monthly amount of money to help care for the dogs.

Recently a couple of volunteers to the shelter started Lake Shore's first blog and everyone at the shelter is very excited. We have just added a new gallery for people to share photos of their pets and a new project page.

WM Barry Group is a Real Estate firm specializing in Commercial, Industrial and Investment property. This was Bill Barry's first web site and I wanted it to be a great experience for him. I used the content management software Joomla as the back end to allow him to do all the updates to the site from his home computer. Joomla offers the user the ability to add text and images as easy as working within a word processor. Next on the agenda is to have audio descriptions added to each of the Barry Groups listings.
